The Tour

Welcome to Erik's parents' backyard! Let me show you around...

Arrival from the county road on the edge of Bloomington

Looking down the drive wth the valet circle to the left

The "valet" circle... I think Erik volunteered his brother to valet guests' cars down the gravel lane on the side of the property to the back field where cars can be parked...

The deck where I guess guests will arrive to walk down to the ceremony site

The deck where I bet we could set up tables & stuff to welcome guests

View from the deck looking at the two apple trees that will be the ceremony site

View from the deck looking at the apple trees... A step down and a stroll across the lawn to the ceremony

A view looking from the deck to the left of the two apple trees... I think this is a big enough & flat enough area to put up a tent

Looking from the deck straight at the apple trees with the field for parking beyond

Looking from the deck slightly to the right of the apple trees with that cute gravel lane beyond

A closer look at the apple trees (barn & parking field beyond)... It seems just right the way it is, but we might have to chaunce it up a bit maybe with a fabric backdrop and/or something else strung between the trees

Visions:

Rustic wood pews or chairs arranged in a semi circle, a sprinkling of white rose petals, old wooden boxes stocked with sun parasols and fan programs, a breezy fabric or ribbon backdrop between the trees, maybe a violinist or string quartet...

If it's later in the day, maybe around sunset or dusk, we could also have hanging lanterns or candles, maybe string lights or aisle luminarias...

From the apple trees looking toward the gravel lane beyond that borders the edge of the property and curves toward the field where cars can be parked

The irresistibly charming gravel lane behind the apple trees...

More gravel lane, it's so cute!

I don't know why I love this little lane so much

Arriving at the end of the lane which leads to the barn & the back field
(and Chloe sniffing around, so much to sniff!)

Looking from the end of the lane towards the back field, barn just to the left
(Penny & Chloe sniff, sniff, sniff - this is their job)

View of the back field for parking (or even camping?)

Coming soon...

backyard photos! coming soon...

Quenching...

There are 165 12oz beers in a keg...

Hanging jar candles, table votive holders, & drink glasses?

Hanging jar candles, table votive holders, and drinking glasses? (cucumber water, delish!)

Yes to beverages served out of large glass jars...

More glass jars. Let's see... iced tea, mint lemonade, cucumber water, sangria... Metal tubs, too, good idea

In a tin tub. :)

Seriously, did someone tie raffia around the neck of each of those bottles?
Wedding madness...

More Dress-up

Dresses galore!

I think patching pieces and parts from these dresses I love will be fun - I know a seamstress lady that might be up for the task. I could even make it easier by getting a simple shift (if you can find such a thing!) & having her add this & that to make it just so...

Ahh, so simple... wish it were more a-line

Getting really close! If only it were short...

Love the cap sleeves & the layers...

Is this the same dress?

Love this pattern detail! Nice length, good a-line... Too bad it's strapless...

Maybe paired w/ a shrug? Looks really casual, though, even for me - linen-y?

Love, love, love this dress! {via Once Wed} I thought I wanted a Jackie-Audrey boatneck/bateau, but after seeing this dress, all bets are off. Love the collar, love the cap sleeves, love the layers...

Love the bold jewelry, too - contrasts well w/ the delicate, vintage-y, lacy, eyelet

And colored shoes...

Classic... (maybe a little too full & sheer?)

Almost perfect! Great shape, nice length, simple detailing at the waist... Sheer & flowy, though?

Love, love, love these details! I like keeping the front fairly simple and adding some vintage-inspired interest to the back...

The front of that beautiful back?

Love a simple fabric with tailored detailing...

A little too glittery & lacy for me,
but I like how cute a strapless is when paired with a shrug...

Nice bodice, but too simple...

LOVE this vintage gem! Sheer layers, a touch of tailored detail, cutest collar

So cute...

Does this come in white-ish?

Banding detail...

Like the neckline & the deco pattern, needs more a-line

Fun but would never

Colorful petticoat? Could be fun...

So there's to thinking about it in pieces & parts. Next step: photoshop magic.
