A Slightly Wedding-ish Wedding

Not being the dreamed-of-my-wedding-since-I-was-a-little-girl type, naturally I wanted to know what it was all about.

So began my love/hate quest of scooping up every bridal magazine, scouring the internet for inspiration, pouring over local venue options, and (to the great annoyance of my fiance) basically immersing myself in wedding porn for hours on end...

Love

For a craftster-artist-designer type, I have to admit, it's deliciously fun. So many diy opportunities & crafting galore for the girly girl in me: dreamy decor, romantic lights, gourmet food, crafty gifts, clever invites, welcome baskets, glowing candles, sparkling center pieces, irresistible cakes, elegant photography, love song playlists, vintage dresses, silk, satin, lace, ribbons, shoes, custom rings...
Love

But for the most part, what I found were things that Erik & I would never include in our wedding in real life...

It wasn't until I came across sites like A Backyard Wedding, A Practical Wedding, & $2000 Wedding that I started feeling less alone in the crazy world of outrageous weddings. Like many others, I am so grateful they have shared their stories - great inspiration. And by now, Erik & I had sorted out what felt right for us, what we imagine it could be like.

Love

So now, the craftster-artist-designer in me is jumping for joy at the opportunity to plan the best-ever slightly wedding-ish wedding that's just right for us. We're determined to create a relaxed and beautiful experience with a unique ceremony that people will care about, a comfortable atmosphere that makes people want to stay & party, and a truly meaningful opportunity to celebrate with family & friends. On a budget. With no chair sashes.

Love...

You don't even need chairs. Think about sheets spread out on the ground for folks to sit on....

I thought of that! I'll post the pic with people just relaxing in the sun (needs live music...)
